Senior Applications Engineer

We are actively searching for a customer orientated, self-starting, and Senior Applications Engineer to support and drive continued growth of our sales through active customer engagements with potential and existing new customers, outside sales representatives, and distributors. The ideal candidate is a well-organized, self-starting, hard-working professional with a solid knowledge of marine and/or vehicle electrical systems and a can-do attitude. Reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Operations Manager, this role plays a vital role in ensuring our internal processes match external customer realities and needs.

Responsibilities:

•                     Support top-line revenue growth through customer engagement, application support such as high-level electrical system or product configuration, identifying future product needs and feature/specification requirements, and sharing new product release information with customers, sales reps, and distributors across all product lines with customers as the relationships continue to mature.

•                     Travel (15-30%) varies by time of year to customers with or without outside sales representative and distributor partner sales managers. Attend trade shows as required.

•                     Large/medium customer application engineering support through high-level electrical system implementation of company’s products via schematic recommendations.

•                     Collaborate as part of a matrix organization with Inside Sales / CSM Manager, and other company managers towards mission objectives.

•                     Conduct webinars with customers, distributors and sales reps to introduce the company and our products.

•                     Support end customer tech support calls and emails as part of internal support team.

•                     Utilizing company’s ERP/CRM system, track and report to senior leadership progress towards goals.

•                     As part of the product marketing committee, provide voice of the customer feedback on which new products and features should be prioritized as part of strategy planning.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

•                     Bachelor's degree (Engineering discipline preferred) and minimum 4 years’ experience (or 10+ years’ experience if no degree) focused on customer facing technical engagement and/or product development and realization)

•                     Strong written / verbal professional communication skills

•                     Strong familiarity with marine (desired) or vehicle / mobile electrical systems, 2+ years of experience working with customers in an application engineering role.

•                     Ability to multitask and prioritize / triage responsibilities effectively.

•                     Knowledge of Affinity Designer (Similar to PowerPoint / Adobe InDesign)

•                     Strong self-starter, motivated by both personal and company/team success.

•                     Highly customer focused, dedicated to being a partner towards customer’s needs.

Requirements:

•                     Ability to travel 15-30%, depending on seasonality and customer needs.

•                     Ability to drive for travel regionally (mileage reimbursed)
